The opportunity

As part of an overall succession plan, the business is seeking a new Managing Director to lead all day-to-day operations and work collaboratively as part of a well-balanced and experienced Board. Key responsibilities and deliverables:

  • The incoming Managing Director will operate as part of a well-balanced and experienced Board and will report directly to the group CEO on a day-to-day basis. They will also have direct but limited communication with the group Chairman and shareholders.
  • The successful candidate will play a critical hands-on role day to day in order to achieve strategic goals through the leadership of the people and building upon the culture.
  • Lead, guide, coach and support the management team ensuring they fully understand the goals and what is required to achieve them focusing on sustainable growth.
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to formulate financial budgets for the business and ensure adequate controls are in place.
  • Ensure a positive company-wide culture permeates throughout the business, achieving a collaborative, positive and inclusive working environment.
  • Drive engagement, productivity and profitability with an objective of optimising profitability over the short, medium, and long term.
  • Build strong relationships with the shareholders, Executive Board and senior leadership team, consulting and collaborating with them to keep everyone informed of key developments and company performance.
  • Develop and/or build upon industry knowledge, understand the competitor landscape and identify future growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the business stays ahead of technology trends and developments, spot opportunities, and ensure the use of technology to support growth.
  • Assess, monitor and minimise risks to the company. Identify any potential risks and work with the team to ensure these are minimised.
  • Ensure the business has a positive impact on the local community.
